What do we mean by digital transformation and what are the challenges?

When we think of digital transformation, many notions come to mind: economies of scale, 0 Touch, service, mobility, strategy, outsourcing to the cloud, improving back office functions, dematerialization, moving the heart of the business, survival conditions, the end of silos between services, data, cloud as a service, omni-channel, and many others.

During a recent exchange and sharing session with experts and consultants from the community, we realized that the notion of "digital transformation" covers an extremely wide range of subjects.

Digital transformation is a concept that has taken on increasing importance in the business world. But what does it really mean, and what are the issues involved?

The first image that comes to mind when talking about digital transformation is that of an economy of scale, where companies seek to optimize their resources and maximize efficiency through digital technologies. Notions such as "0 Touch", mobility, strategy and outsourcing to the cloud are all factors that characterize this transformation.

Improving back office functions, dematerializing processes and shifting the heart of the business to digital are also key aspects of this evolution. Indeed, digital transformation is often seen as a condition of survival for companies, as those who fail to adapt to the new technological realities risk being left behind.

Another important aspect of digital transformation is the need to break down silos between different departments within a company. By encouraging the circulation and sharing of data, this approach aims to foster better collaboration and more informed decision-making.

The role of data is also central to this transformation. Companies are looking to harness the information they collect to improve their processes, better understand their customers and make more relevant decisions.

The Cloud is often at the heart of this transformation, offering flexible, scalable solutions to meet business needs. Cloud as a service" provides access to IT resources on demand, without major initial investment.

Finally, omni-channelling is a key element of digital transformation. Companies are seeking to offer their customers a fluid, consistent experience, whatever the channels they use (website, mobile app, social networks, etc.).

During a recent sharing and exchange session, we found that digital transformation encompasses a wide range of topics and concerns.
